Overview
Festool's HL 850 E-F-Plus planer uses a single-knife spiral cutter-head with a replaceable blade for smooth, quiet, "chatter-free" cuts. Its flush cutter-side design and retractable spring-loaded guard give it unlimited rabbeting depth, so it can plane flush to an adjacent surface instead of leaving a lip that has to be removed by hand. A rotary handle lets you dial in depth from 1/256" (1/10 mm) up to 9/64" (3.5 mm), and multiple head options create rustic architectural effects in beams and flooring.
